{homemade laundry detergent}

After friend recently gifted me with a jar lovely smelling homemade laundry detergent, I am hooked! As my supply of Linda’s gift runs low, today I set out to make my own. I followed Linda’s lead and used a recipe from StoneGable. (Sidenote- StoneGable is an awesome blog,   so much fun stuff!) I was pleasantly surprised at how easy homemade detergent was to make, and better yet how cost effective. For right around $30, I now have several gallons of fresh smelling detergent to store away in the laundry room. With each load, you use just about two-three tablespoons of powder so this is bound to last for a long time! I honestly can say that I will probably not use liquid detergent again, this new stuff does the trick. My clothes smell great, and my colors seem to be staying brighter and whites whiter!

1, 3 lb 7 oz box of Arm and Hammer Super Washing Soda
1, 3lb  container Oxy Clean
4 bars Fels Naptha Soap, grated
2 containers Downy Unstoppables

Steps to make:

1. Grate Fels Naptha Bars into large bowl using box grater
2. Mix grated bars and remaining ingredients in a garbage bag or five gallon bucket
