I could spend every weekend at an outdoor craft show, festival, farmer’s market..you name it, I love it! One of my favorite festivals each year is the Wamego Tulip Festival. Wamego is a wonderfully cute town about 20 minutes from Manhattan, and is home to several unique sights like the Oz Winery and Oz Museum. Last Saturday, my sweet friend Kate and I drove out to the festival to check out this year’s blooms and festival. In past years, the tulips haven’t been at their prime through the festival weekend, but this year they were looking lovely!
As you walk through the park, there are tons and tons of different craft vendors. From home decor to food to toys for kids, you’ll find it here. There are also some amazing food vendors too! Although there were many things I was loving, we practiced great self control and only purchased a few keychains as gifts. Wamego High School happened to be having their Junior & Senior Promenade through the park that afternoon while we were there. Kate and I grabbed a spot in the grass and watched as the classes walked across the bridge to showcase their dresses. We were surprised to see that orange was definitely a popular color for girls this year! It was fun to see what everyone was wearing, and take a load off as we had a very busy morning before our adventure.
I live for relaxing Saturdays like this. I look forward to being back in this park in just two weeks for the Kansas Sampler Festival, a must see if you’ll be in the area May 2-3rd!
Happy Sunday! 🙂
